Treasure Mapping
201
"The person with a fixed goal, a clear
picture of his desire, or an ideal always
before him, causes it, through repetition,
to be buried deeply in one's
subconscious mind and is thus
enabled, thanks to its generative and
sustaining power, to realize one's goal
in a minimum of time and with a
minimum of physical effort. Just pursue
the thought unceasingly. Step by step
you will achieve realization, for all your
faculties and powers become directed to
that end."
Claude M. Bristol
Here's a photo I snitched from the web - looks like a church group - maybe a
travelclub. I wonder if the pope is good with this? Can't see the pix but you get the
idea. Scissors and magazines, some stickum and artboard and put it up some
place where you can see it easily and remember to get intimately familiar with the
details you like and really picture yourself there or it with you or...you know!
You are now at the 2nd stage of dream acquisition:
Visualization.
What the mind can more fully comprehend the
subconscious can more easily understand. The
more details the easier it works. Why visualizing
works better than just using a mental note, sort of a
text file in your head:"Got to get a different car.")
too few details. This phenomena requires gigabytes
to really get engaged and produce. So what uses
lots of memory space? Pictures!

You know from attempting attachments on your
emails that the pictures use a lot of memory - bytes
(megabytes, i.e. "MB" and 1000 MB = 1GB, a
gigabyte.) The brain's unlimited capacity for storing
pictures, odors - especially odors, sounds, tastes
and touch sensations means "no problemo" for
your cabeza (head) and the more data the merrier.
So what do pictures have to do with
"treasure-mapping?" Repetition.

You paste pictures on some posterboard and look
at them a lot. That clarifies the details. Add some
smells to it - go to the essence store in the mall and
see if they have one or two for your dream.
Coconut for that trip to the tropics would be a
powerful addition to the pictures you got from the
travel agency near campus. Dab some on and take
a whiff before and after class, as soon as you come
out of the wash room in the morning.

Many people like to hang their map(s) where they
can stare while they brush and floss their teeth.
Flossing can be so boring if you're doing a good
job that colorful pictures of your dreams/goals make
for a multi-task.

The graphics all don't have to be exact - you can
use symbols that seem relevent to the goal. Like
the compasses on this page suggest travel.
Anything that enhances the feeling you're trying to
achieve - a picture of you grinning with all the rest
of it indicates you would be happiest in this context.

Imprinting goals on your sub-conscious mind
repeatedly with a treasure map - your personal
collage of sights and maybe even smells and
textures maintains your conscious focus and
attracts these things to you. I personally used the
concept to find the exact truck I'd been "dreaming
of."
"If you paint in your mind a picture of bright and happy
expectations, you put yourself into a condition conducive
to your goal."     Norman Vincent Peale
Free Supplies: Magazine pictures - Hey
you're not home where there's probably a
hundred but nice people drop off their
mags at public libraries where they sit for
sale for 10 cents beside the hard cover
books they want to "off" for a buck (which
make great presents - most with their
color jackets). Go get 'em tiger!  Kinkos
has scissors and straight cutters free to
use. Use your room mate's honey to stick
'em with and the art dept or recycling dept
probably has a junk room you can forage
for remnant art board.
